Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were received electronically on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 after public advertisement for LIT Fiber Wide Area Network. Request for proposals were issued to six (6) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract during the February 25, 2021 Board Meeting for a three (3) year period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024 with the option to renew for two (2) consecutive one (1) year periods; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to exercise its first one (1) year renewal option; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Universal Service Support Mechanism for Schools and Libraries, commonly known as E-Rate will cover 90% of the cost ($1,053,555.96). The District’s annual cost will be $105,355.60; and
WHEREAS, the award is based on servicing seventy-four (74) schools, District sites, and data centers per the availability of E-Rate funds; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Abdullah Ansari, Executive Director of Information Technology. |

NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for LIT Fiber Wide Area Network for a term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period as follows:
Crown Castle Fiber LLC, Houston, TX at a cost not to exceed $1,053,555.96
EXPLANATION: To provide the District with high capacity network connections. |
