Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education currently utilizes and desires to continue to utilize CommonLit. a comprehensive literacy program with reading lessons, English Language Arts curriculum, benchmark assessments, and standards-based data for teachers; and WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:18A-5a (19), the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertising for the provision or performance of goods and services for the support or maintenance of proprietary computer software and hardware; and WHEREAS, the contract term is August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Timothy Nellegar, Director of Educational Technology. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for English Language Arts curriculum software from August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025 as follows: CommonLit Inc., Washington, DC at a cost not to exceed $234,850.00 EXPLANATION: To provide a comprehensive literacy program with reading lessons, English Language Arts curriculum, benchmark assessments, and standards-based data for teachers for the 2024/2025 school year. |
