Summary:
|
Whereas, N.J.S.A. 18A:58-37.1 et seq. requires Newark Board of Education to purchase and to loan textbooks upon individual request, and without charge, to all kindergarten through twelfth grade students who are enrolled in and attend nonpublic schools in the district; and Whereas, the Newark Board of Education will consult with the administrator of each participating non-public school, advise them of their funds, and enter into an agreement with them as to the textbooks to be provided; and Whereas, the Office of Federal Programs & Grants will provide technical assistance to the non-public schools in spending the funds in a timely manner; and Whereas, the New Jersey Department of Education allocates $72,670.00 to the Newark Board of Education for fiscal year 2025, beginning July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Funds will be distributed to the non-public schools located within the district as determined by the New Jersey Department of Education. |
