Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to addressing academic excellence in its schools and the development of the highest potential in each student; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education recognizes the need to provide students with instructional robotic and science materials to enhance their growth in problem solving, technical knowledge skills, and process thinking during the 2024/2025 school year; and WHEREAS, the term of all contracts shall be September 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5a(5), the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts were reviewed and approved by Timothy Nellegar, Director of Instructional Technology |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the purchase of instructional robotic and science materials, including the related membership and software subscriptions for a contract term of September 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025 as follows: A. Lego Educational, Pittsburg, KS at a cost not to exceed $75,000.00 B. Project Lead the Way, Indianapolis, IN at a cost not to exceed from $500,000.00 EXPLANATION: To purchase instructional robotic, science, and engineering materials to enhance student growth in problem solving and technical knowledge skills. |
