Summary:

WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received on Thursday, March 17, 2022 after public advertisement for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten Through Grade Eight Traditional School Year, and Kindergarten Through Grade Eight Summer School Mathematics Instructional Materials. Request for proposals were issued to nineteen (19) vendors with nine (9) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract during the May 26, 2022 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option for a two (2) year period commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Yolonda Severe, Executive Director of Early Childhood. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten Through Grade Eight Traditional School Year, and Kindergarten Through Grade Eight Summer School Mathematics Instructional Materials for a two (2) year period commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 as follows: Great Minds PBC, Washington, DC at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00 EXPLANATION: To meet the educational requirements of New Jersey and the District’s Education Plan. |
