Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education awarded contract 9537 during the May 26, 2022 Board Meeting for construction management services to Remington Vernick Engineers, Inc. for a contract term of May 26, 2022 through September 30, 2023 in the amount of $672,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved an amendment of contract during the June 20, 2023 Board Meeting extending the contract period through December 31, 2024 and increasing the contract value from $672,000.00 to $1,118,754.50; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to secure the continued services of an experienced construction management firm with documented success with providing school district tenant agent services of third-party projects; and
WHEREAS, the tenant agent on the behalf of the Newark Board of Education shall ensure that all design professionals, the developer, and their contractors perform their work in a manner that supports the District’s interest and intent for the project; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement for extraordinary unspecifiable services in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-5a (2); and
WHEREAS, the contract term is from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator. |

Recommendation to the Board
|
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Tenant Agent Services at Newark School of Architecture and Interior for a contract term of January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 as follows:
Remington & Vernick Engineers, Inc., Cherry Hill, NJ at a cost not to exceed $520,718.00
EXPLANATION: To provide onsite tenant agent services at Newark School of Architecture and Interior Design, 155 Jefferson St., Newark, NJ. |
