Summary:
WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, after public advertisement for Multipurpose Paper. Request for bids were issued to seventeen (17) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and

WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026; and

WHEREAS, in addition to contract 9861 the Newark Board of Education will purchase multipurpose paper from the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey Cooperative to maximize cost savings; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Sherelle Spriggs, Director of Support Services.

Recommendation to the Board
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Multipurpose Paper for a two (2) year period commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 as follows:

A. Sharda Paper Inc, Piscataway, NJ awarded 8 items at a cost not to exceed $73,096.00
B. WB Mason Co. Inc, Secaucus, NJ awarded 9 items at a cost not to exceed $39,204.50
Grand total not to exceed $112,300.50

EXPLANATION: To provide the District with multipurpose paper at the most advantageous price.
