Summary:
|
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1 et seq., requires school districts to provide student transportation services; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, Essex Regional Educational Services Commission has agreed to provide transportation services for the 2024/2025 school year with an administrative/management fee not to exceed five percent (5%); and
WHEREAS, Essex Regional Educational Services Commission will provide out of district transportation services to Newark students for the 2024/2025 school year at an amount not to exceed Sixteen Million and Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($16,012,500.00); and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Quanika Dukes-Spruill, Executive Director of Pupil Transportation. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education authorizes the execution of a one (1) year contract agreement with Essex Regional Educational Services Commission for out of District transportation services from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 with a management fee not to exceed five percent (5%), and a cost not to exceed Sixteen Million and Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($16,012,500.00).
EXPLANATION: To provide out of District transportation services for Newark students. |
