Summary:
|
Whereas, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to providing extended, after school and seasonal experiences that will enrich and enhance our students' and coaches' knowledge and skill development, these activities are directly related to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards of 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 relating to Comprehensive Health and Physical Education.
Whereas, the proposed programming has been approved by the Office of Health, Physical Education and Athletics;
NJSIAA Membership Resolution (see attached)
Newark Board of Education Office of Health, Physical Education and Athletics High School and Middle School Sports Tournaments and Elementary Developmental Sports Activities
Seasonal Super Essex Conference Student Leaders Summit
Seasonal Newark Board of Education Student-Athlete Council Meetings
Elementary and Middle School Developmental Sports Programs: Track, Bowling, Lacrosse, Hockey, Soccer and Volleyball
All In-State and Out of State NJSIAA-sanctioned interscholastic sports games, events and championships
Penn Relays -Overnight and Day Trips
Football Camp-Overnight and Day Camps
All Sports Clinics and Camps for Coaches and Students
K-12 Swimming Programs
Elementary Basketball and Track Tournaments
Special Olympics Events
Now, therefore it is hereby resolved, that the Newark Board of Education Board Members approve the location of the various sports programming/activities and initiatives for the planned 2024-2025 season. All necessary paperwork will be approved and submitted prior to the date of the activity. |
