Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 after public advertisement for Public and Non-Public Individualized Education Plan Related Services. Request for proposals were issued to twenty-five (25) vendors with eleven (11) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by Delta -T Group North Jersey Inc. was rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed proposal; and
WHEREAS, the District desires a pool of pre-qualified service providers for Individualized Education Program (IEP) counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language related services, evaluation services, and behavior analyst services for students with IEPs; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract during the February 24, 2022 Board Meeting for a term of March 1, 2022 through March 1, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Marilyn Mitchell, Director of Special Education. |

Recommendation to the Board
|
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contracts for Public and Non-Public Individualized Education Plan Related Services for a two (2) year period commencing March 2, 2024 through March 1, 2026 as follows:
A. Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Newark, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $100,000.00
B. The Devereux Foundation doing business as Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, Cherry Hill, NJ at a cost not to exceed $600,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide Individualized Education Program counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language related services, and evaluation services for students as required. |
