Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with Rutgers University to provide two cohorts of teacher participants with a New Jersey endorsement in math; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county, or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Darleen Gearhart, Director of Mathematics. |

Recommendation to the Board

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for teachers to obtain their New Jersey math endorsement for a one (1) year period commencing September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 as follows:
Rutgers University, Newark, NJ at an amount not to exceed $130,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide Newark Board of Education teacher participants with a New Jersey endorsement in math. Subject to the availability of funding. |
