Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were received electronically on Friday, October 29, 2021 after public advertisement for Bulk Waste Pick-Up and Disposal, bids were issued to twelve (12) vendors with one (1) vendor responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of The Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) after public advertising for bids; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period from date of award, with an option to extend the term of the contract for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Wali Thomas, Director of Custodial Services. |

NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Bulk Waste Pick-Up and Disposal for a two (2) year period from date of award with the option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period to the following vendor:
Giordano Company, Inc., Newark, NJ at an annual cost not to exceed $680,000.00
Explanation: To provide bulk waste pick-up and disposal on demand services for District facilities. Subject to the availability of funds. |
