|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to improve and expand education programs beyond high school; WHEREAS, in partnership with New Jersey Institute of Technology and the City of Newark, the NJIT/Newark Math Success Initiative launched. The program is designed to identify and strengthen high school student’s mathematic knowledge, skills, and preparation for college work; and WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for the Math Success Initiative commencing July 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024 as follows: New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00 EXPLANATION: To allow students to earn college credits during high school and strengthen their mathematical knowledge. Subject to the availability of funds. |
