Summary: Whereas, NJ LEEP has agreed to formalize a partnership with the Newark Board of Education to facilitate college access and success programming for Newark Public Schools students. NJ LEEP will operate afterschool, Saturday and summer programming at East Side HS and Central HS to support students in going to and graduating college. Whereas, NJ LEEP will work with students in 11th grade and continue through the end of their senior year in high school and through college matriculation. Whereas, NJ LEEP will support the college application process, financial aid applications and focus on socio-emotional skill development. The term commences retroactively from September 1, 2024-August 31rst, 2025.
Funding : No cost to the district
Recommendation to the Board: Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Memorandum of Understanding between NJ LEEP and the Newark Board of Education.
