Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after public advertisement for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development. Request for proposals were issued to thirty-two (32) vendors with sixteen (16) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the District desires a pool of qualified service providers to deliver high quality in school, out of school, and summer enrichment programs; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original award of contract during the May 25, 2023 Board Meeting for a contract term of June 1, 2023 through May 31, 2025 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole two (2) year renewal option; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Julianne Bello, Director of Extended Learning Time and Sylvia Esteves, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development for a two (2) year period of June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2027 as follows:
A. Butterfly Dreamz, Inc., Hoboken, NJ at a cost not to exceed $100,000.00
B. Cultural Integration and Arts Association, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $250,000.00
C. Curvebreakers Test Prep, Garden City, NY at a cost not to exceed $200,000.00
E. Handle with Care Behavior Management System. Inc., Gardiner, NY at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00
H. Misa Hylton Fashion Academy, Inc., New York, NY at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00
I. Playworks Education Energized, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,400,000.00
J. TE-Bass Music Inc., Ramsey, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
