Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:18A-4.5 received proposals on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, after public advertisement for Right to Know Complete Inventory and Updates, proposals were issued to five (5) vendors with one (1) vendor responding, and WHEREAS, in accordance with New Jersey Worker and Community Right to Know Act, N.J.S.A. 34:5A-1 et. seq. the District is required to have a complete inventory of all hazardous materials stored and utilized; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original contract at the March 27, 2018 Board Meeting for a three (3) year period from date of award and contained an option to renew for two (2) successive one (1) year periods. The term of the contract was for a period not to exceed five (5) years; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first renewal option at January 28, 2021 Board Meeting for a one (1) year period of January 28, 2021 through January 27, 2022 with an option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period: and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education also approved a contract amendment at the January 28, 2021 Board Meeting increasing the contract value from $112,335.00 to $112,335.00 annually; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its second and final one (1) year renewal option; and WHEREAS, the vendor has agreed to renew for the second and final one (1) year renewal option under the same terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations and Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Right to Know Complete Inventory and Updates for the second and final one (1) year renewal option commencing January 28, 2022 through January 27, 2023 as follows: PARS Environmental, Inc. Robbinsville, NJ at a cost not to exceed $180,000.00 EXPLANATION: To provide a complete inventory of hazardous materials within the Newark Board of Education in accordance with N.J. Worker and Community Right to Know Act, N.J.S.A. 34:5A-1 et. seq. All employers covered under the Act must complete surveys listing the names and quantities of hazardous materials and chemicals stored and utilized.
