Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, after public advertisement for Repairs to Heating Pumps including Circulating Pumps, Condensate Pumps, Sewer Ejector Pumps and Related Accessories, request for bids were issued to fifty-eight (58) vendors with three (3) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, the term of the contracts shall be for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award, with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the contract value is estimated at two hundred twenty thousand dollars ($220,000.00) which is not be construed as the minimum or maximum amount the District shall be required to expend; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts were reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Repairs to Heating Pumps including Circulating Pumps, Condensate Pumps, Sewer Ejector Pumps and Related Accessories for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award, with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period at a cost not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($220,000.00) as follows:

Award Priority 2 Magic Touch Construction Company, Inc., Keyport, NJ
EXPLANATION: To provide repairs to various heating throughout the District as needed.
