Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education received proposals on July 31, 2012 for Request for Proposal 8136 Professional Environmental Engineering and Licensed Site Remediation Professional Services; and
WHEREAS, the last renewal for request for proposal 8136 was approved at the February 2016, Board Meeting; and
WHEREAS, the District has exhausted all contract renewals under contract 8136 and remediation projects are still ongoing and incomplete; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to continue the Environmental Engineering and Licensed Site Remediation Professional Services; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(1), the Newark Board of Education can award a term contract for professional services without advertising; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for continued services and award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contract for Environmental Engineering and Licensed Site Remediation Professional Services for a one (1) year contract commencing with date of award in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5a (1) as follows:
Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc., North Brunswick, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide ongoing professional environmental services and Licensed Site Remediation Professional Services for several District owned properties. Subject to availability of funds.
