Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, after public advertisement for Water Treatment (Chemical Services), bids were issued to twenty-four (24) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original contact at the January 28, 2020 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of January 28, 2020 through January 27, 2022 with an option provision to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period. The term of the contract was for a period not to exceed four (4) years; and \WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option for a two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the vendor has agreed to renew for the sole two (2) year renewal period under the same terms and conditions with no increase in the original contract price; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control and Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the sole renewal of term contract for Water Treatment (Chemical Services) for a two (2) year period commencing January 28, 2022 through January 27, 2024 as follows: Scientific Boiler Water Conditioning Co. Inc., Linden, NJ at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00 EXPLANATION: To provide ongoing water treatment chemical services throughout the Newark Board of Education schools.
