Summary:
|
WHEREAS, quotations were electronically received on May 3, 2024. Request for quotations were issued to three (3) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.7 commonly known as the “pass the trash” law requires the Board of Education to conduct a 20-year individualized professional employment verification report for newly hired and potential employees for disclosure of child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations for prospective school district employees; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5a(1), the Board of Education is authorized to award a term contract of one (1) year for professional services without advertising for bids or public bidding; and
WHEREAS, the contract period is for one (1) year commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Dr. Yolanda Mendez, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Professional Investigative Services for a one (1) year period commencing July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 as follows:
Gray Law Group LLC, Whippany, NJ at a cost not to exceed $125,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide Individualized professional employment verifications in accordance with New Jersey’s Pass the Trash Law, N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.7 et seq.
