Whereas, this writing curriculum and writing process approach will be used with grades 5 through 8 students during the after school program.
Whereas, the Newark Board of Education is committed to the continuing improvement of the educational program of the district, and
Whereas, teachers, department chairs and central office personnel have authored K-8 Writing Revolution language Arts Curriculum guide that provide a year long overview, differentiation and assessments.

Be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve the Written Out Loud Curriculum to be used with students in grades 5 though 8 and the Writing Revolution - English Language Arts Curriculum in grades K- 8.
