Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to provide testing supplies and training for initial evaluations and reevaluations for student Individualized Education Programs to determine a student’s disabling condition; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(a)5, the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original contract at the August 26, 2021 Board meeting for a one (1) year period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract increasing the award value for Riverside Insights to purchase additional assessment materials; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Marilyn Mitchell, Director of Special Education.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education approves the amendment of term contracts for Special Education Assessment and Training materials from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 as follows:
A. Pearson Education, Inc., New York, NY at a cost not to exceed $100,000.00
B. Riverside Insights Co., Itasca, IL at a cost not to exceed from $15,000.00 to $45,000.00 (additional $30,000.00)
EXPLANATION: To provide assessment materials for initial evaluations and reevaluations for students as needed. Subject to the availability of funds.
