Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to addressing academic excellence in its schools and the development of the highest potential in each student; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(a)5, the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertising for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to purchase Digital Readers for students in kindergarten through third grade; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Timothy Nellegar, Director of Educational Technology.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education approves the award of contract for Digital Readers Instructional Materials for a contract period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 as follows:
Pioneer Valley Educational Press Inc; doing business as Pioneer Valley Books, Northampton, MA at a cost not to exceed $59,500.00
EXPLANATION: To meet the educational requirements of New Jersey and the District’s Education Plan. Subject to the availability of funds.
