Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education, at its February 29, 2024 Regular Board Meeting will be accepting the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, the independent Auditors, PKF O’Connor Davies indicated in their report recommendations for improvement in internal controls; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has developed the attached Corrective Action Plan to address and correct the deficiencies noted,

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education and the Superintendent approve the June 30, 2023 Corrective Action Plan to comments noted as part of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR); and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Corrective Action Plan be submitted to the New Jersey State Department of Education.
