Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to addressing academic excellence in its schools and the development of the highest potential in each student; and
WHEREAS, Digital Reader provides a digital library with a collection of more than 1,000 leveled and decodable books; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(a)5, the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertising for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the contract term shall be October 1, 2023 through July 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Timothy Nellegar, Director of Educational Technology.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education approves the award of contract for the renewal of Digital Reader access for a contract period of October 1, 2023 through September 30,2024 as follows:
Pioneer Valley Educational Press Inc. doing business as Pioneer Valley Books, Northampton, MA at a cost not to exceed $69,045.00
EXPLANATION: To meet the educational requirements of New Jersey and the District’s Education Plan. Subject to the availability of funds.
