Summary: WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Friday, August 2, 2024 after public advertisement for School Cafeteria Equipment. Request for bids were issued to twenty-two (22) vendors with three (3) vendors responding; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation to award a term contract is based on the total lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and

WHEREAS, the contract term shall be for a one (1) year period commencing September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contract for School Cafeteria Equipment for a one (1) year period commencing September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025 as follows:

Todd Devin Food Equipment Inc., Yardley, PA at a cost not to exceed $983,000.00

EXPLANATION: To purchase school cafeteria equipment for Newark School of Architecture and Interior Design.
