Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were received on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, after publicly advertising for Design Consultant Services For Emergent and/or Capital Projects in accordance with N.J.SA. 18A:18A-4.5, proposals were issued to seven (7) vendors and available for download from the District’s website with twelve (12) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, this solicitation was set-aside for one hundred percent (100%) certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and/or Women Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) and/or Small Business Enterprises (SBE); and
WHEREAS, the original contract was awarded at the November 27, 2018 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period from date of award and contained an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods or for the length of time authorized and necessary for the completion of the actual construction of a single project in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-42(k); and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first renewal option at the October 29, 2020 Board Meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its second and final option to renew for a contract term of November 27, 2021 through November 26, 2022 under the same terms and conditions with no increase in the original contract price; and
WHEREAS, the total expenditure against each contract shall not exceed One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) for the contract period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the second and final renewal of term contract for Design Consultant Services for Emergency and/or Capital Projects for a (1) year period commencing November 27, 2021 through November 26, 2022 at an amount not to exceed One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) per vendor as follows:
