Subject: 14.11 Approval of a advanced academic achievement secondary school partnership program and syllabus between NJIT and the Newark Board of Education to provide Engineering Graphics and Applied Computer Aided Design Classes at West Side High School.

Summary: Whereas, NJIT has agreed to offer college credit courses at West Side High School in Engineering Graphics and Applied Computer Aided Design. Whereas, students who have successfully completed the 10th or 11th grade with an overall GPA of a B or better, including course prerequisites, may be permitted to enroll in these college credit courses. Whereas, the agreement is for the school years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Funding : The total amount of payment by the Newark Board of Education shall not exceed $15,000.
Recommendation to the Board: Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Advanced Academic Achievement Secondary School Program, including syllabus, between NJIT and the Newark Board of Education to offer Engineering Graphics and Applied Computer Aided Design courses at West Side High School.
