Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were received electronically on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 after public advertisement for Pest Control and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program, bids were issued to eight (8) vendors with three (3) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period from date of award, with an option to extend the term of the contract for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:18A-2(y), the bid submitted by E & G Exterminators, Inc. is deemed non-responsive for failure to provide a detailed written technical summary of proposed IPM, sample of reporting form and sample notification letter; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to award a term contract to the next lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations.

NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Pest Control and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program for a two (2) year period from date of award with the option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period to the following vendor:
Bowco Laboratories, Inc., Woodbridge, NJ at an annual cost not to exceed $300,000.00
Explanation: To provide required pest control services for District facilities. Subject to the availability of funds.
