Summary: WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Friday, July 23, 2021, after public advertisement for Vinyl Composition Tiles (VCT) Floor Tiles and Related Supplies, bids were issued to twenty-three (23) vendors with five (5) vendors responding, see award analysis; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract at the October 28, 2021 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of October 28, 2021 through October 27, 2023 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current award due to a clerical error; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Vinyl Composition Floor Tiles and Related Supplies for a two (2) year period of October 28, 2021 through October 27, 2023 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:

A. Best Value Rugs & Carpet Inc., Green Brook, NJ from 33 items at an annual cost not to exceed $389,420.26

B. Commercial Interiors Direct Inc., Riverdale, NJ from 16 items at an annual cost not to exceed $54,168.24

C. Continental Flooring Co., Scottsdale, AZ from 6 items at an annual cost not to exceed $538,900.00

D. Extech Building Materials Inc. dba Liberty Building Products, Newark, NJ from 6 items at an annual cost not to exceed $34,351.00 to 6 items at an annual cost not to exceed $49,391.00

Grand total annual amount not to exceed from $1,016,839.50 to $1,031,879.50

EXPLANATION: To provide vinyl composition floor tiles and related supplies through the District as needed.
