Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Thursday, August 1, 2019 after public advertisement for Tree Trimming and Related Services, request for bids were issued to ten (10) vendors with five (5) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the original contract was awarded at the August 27, 2019 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of August 27, 2019 through August 26, 2021 and contained an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the sole renewal option at the September 30, 2021 Board Meeting for the period of September 30, 2021 through September 29, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract for inclusion of an additional funding source; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Supervising Accountant and Wali Thomas, Director of Custodial Services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Tree Trimming and Related Services for a period of September 30, 2021 through September 29, 2023 as follows:
Rich Tree Service, Inc., South Plainfield, NJ (S) at a cost not to exceed $282,900.00
EXPLANATION: To provide tree trimming and related services to Newark Board of Education schools and properties. Subject to the availability of funds.
