Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Friday, October 11, 2024 after public advertisement for Tree Trimming and Related Services. Request for bids were issued to fourteen (14) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, the lowest overall cost of rows 1, 4, 7, and 8 determined the basis of award; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period of November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Wali Thomas, Director of Custodial Services, Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Tree Trimming and Related Services for a two (2) year period of November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company, Maplewood, NJ at a cost not to exceed $310,200.00
EXPLANATION: To provide tree trimming and related services to Newark Board of Education schools and properties.
