Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Thursday, November 3, 2022 after public advertisement for High School Expanded Learning Services. Request for proposals were issued to four (4) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires highly qualified service providers for in school, out of school, and summer expanded learning; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original award of contract during the November 22, 2022 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole two (2) year renewal option; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for High School Expanded Learning Services for a two (2) year period of December 1, 2024 through November 30, 2026 as follows:
A. Be The Changemakers Inc, Teaneck, NJ at a cost not to exceed $640,400.00
C. Voices International Publications, St. Albans, NY at a cost not to exceed $666,048.00
