Summary:

Whereas, BOKS, an initiative of The Reebok Foundation located in Boston, MA with a mission to empower school communities to improve their children physically, mentally and socially through the power of movement; and Whereas, BOKS has awarded Newark Board of Education $48,000 total to support their Physical Education programming; and Whereas, the funding will allow the twenty-four (24) K-8 district schools identified in the award letter to purchase equipment, supplies and incentives for their students in Physical Education; and Whereas, each school will receive an amount of $2000; and Whereas, the Office of Health, Physical Education and Athletics will oversee the donation; and Whereas, the grant funding is for the 2021-2022 school year.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, the Newark Board of Education accepts the donation from BOKS in the amount of $48,000 and intends to comply with the provisions in the award letter.
