Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, after public advertisement for Fire Suppression, Sprinkler System and Standpipe Testing and Inspection, request for bids were issued to six (6) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the original contract was awarded at the June 12, 2018 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of June 12, 2018 through June 11, 2020 with an option to renew for two (2) successive one (1) year periods; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first renewal option at the August 27, 2020 for a one (1) period of August 27, 2020 through August 26, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its second and final option to renew for a contract term of January 27, 2022 through January 26, 2023 under the same terms and conditions with no increase in the original contract price; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the second and final renewal of term contract for Fire Suppression, Sprinkler System and Standpipe Testing and Inspection for a one (1) year contract term commencing January 27, 2022 through January 26, 2023 as follows:
Absolute Protective Systems, Edison, NJ at an amount not to exceed $750,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide required fire suppression, sprinkler system, and standpipe testing and inspection as needed. Subject to the availability of funds.
