Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to addressing academic excellence in its schools and the development of the highest potential in each student; and WHEREAS, the District recognizes the need to provide students with instructional robotic and science materials to enhance their growth in problem solving, technical knowledge skills, and process thinking during the 2023/2024 school year; and WHEREAS, in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5 (a) (5), the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contracts during the August 24, 2023 Board Meeting for a term of September 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to increase the award value to purchase summer school materials; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Timothy Nellegar, Director of Instructional Technology and Dr. Julianne Bello, Director of Extended Learning Time.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Instructional Robotic and Science Materials increasing the award value for a contract term of September 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024 as follows: A. Andy Mark, Inc., Kokomo, IN at a cost not to exceed $25,000.00 B. CDW Government LLC, Vernon Hills, IL at cost not to exceed $50,000.00 C First, Manchester, NH at a cost not to exceed $25,000.00 D. Lego Educational/ LEGO Brand Retail Inc./ LEGO Education US, Boston MA, at a cost not to exceed from $50,000.00 to 140,043.00 (additional $90,043.00) E. Pitsco Inc, Pittsburg, KS at a cost not to exceed $15,000.00 F. Project Lead the Way, Indianapolis, IN at a cost not to exceed from $400,000.00 G. Rev Robotics, Carrollton, TX at a cost not to exceed $15,000.00 H.
