Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were received electronically on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 after public advertisement for Mentoring Professional Development Services Request For Proposal, proposals were issued to nine (9) vendors with three (3) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to provide mentoring professional development services to staff, and to develop and implement a student mentoring program; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract at the December 22, 2020 Board meeting for a one (1) year period of December 22, 2020 through December 21, 2021 with an option to renew for one (1) successive one (1) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option for a one (1) year period of November 23, 2021 through November 22, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Mary Leigh Harvey, Director of Student Life and Carolyn Granato, Assistant Superintendent of Student Life.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Mentoring Professional Development Services for a one (1) year period of November 23, 2021 through November 22, 2022 as follows:
Newark Mentoring Movement, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $400,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide mentoring professional development services to ensure mentors support positive youth development, academic outcomes, and holistically support the whole student. Subject to the availability of funding.
