Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 after public advertisement for Audio and Visual Equipment and Installation, bids were issued to seventeen (17) vendors with five (5) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contracts at the June 23, 2020 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period from date of award with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first amendment at the October 29, 2020 Board Meeting increasing the award value of term contracts to purchase additional audio and visual goods to aid in the successful delivery of highly effective learning environments; and
WHEREAS, Newark Board of Education desires a second amendment for inclusion of additional funding sources; and
WHEREAS, the award value will remain the same as one million, two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000.00) annually; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contracts have been reviewed and approved by Abdullah Ansari, Executive Director of Information Technology.

Recommendation to the Board:
|
NOW THEREFORE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the second amendment of term contracts for inclusion of additional funding sources for Audio and Visual Equipment and Installation for a two (2) year period of June 23, 2020 through June 22, 2022 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period. The total cost of all contracts awarded shall not exceed one million, two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000.00) annually as follows:
A. Clary Business Machines, San Diego, CA
B. Keyboard Consultants, Inc., Fairfield, NJ
C. Visual Sound, Inc., Broomall, PA CA
D. World Sound Rentals, Oro Valley, AZ
EXPLANATION: To provide the District with audio and visual equipment and installation services. Subject to availability of funds.
