Summary: WHEREAS, proposals were received on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 after public advertisement for Professional Development For School Leaders And Teachers Request For Proposal, proposals were issued to nine (9) vendors with twelve (12) vendors responding; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to provide a pool of pre-qualified professional development service providers to support educators and school leaders; and

WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalists identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original award of contract during the September 24, 2019 Board meeting for a two (2) year period of September 24, 2019 through September 23, 2021 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the sole renewal option during the June 22, 2021 Board meeting for a two year period of September 24, 2021 through September 30, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract for inclusion of additional funding sources including At Risk program funding; and

WHEREAS, the award of each term contract shall not exceed seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000.00) annually and any resultant contract will not guarantee services. The Newark Board of Education is not responsible for services performed without an authorized purchase order, and only the issuance of a purchase order authorizes the performance of services; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contracts have been reviewed and approved by Dr. Mary Ann Reilly, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contracts for Professional Development services for the contract period of September 24, 2021 through September 30, 2023 including the additional funding sources at an amount not to exceed seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000.00) annually per vendor as follows:
