Summary:
|
Whereas, the Greater Newark Conservancy agreed to partner with Food Corps to create nourishing environments for students to eat, learn and grow.
The FoodCorps Farm to School Program will be implemented at
Hawthorne Ave. School, Avon Ave. School, Harriet Tubman ES, Lincoln Ave. School and Mt. Vernon School with students in grades K-6. At least 80 students (K-6) will receive at least 10 hours of instruction.
The FoodCorps Service Members will be involved in schoolwide community events.

Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this memorandum of Understanding with Greater Newark Conservancy to implement the FoodCorps Program at Hawthorne Ave. School, Avon Ave. School, Harriet Tubman ES, Lincoln Ave. School and Mt. Vernon School.
