Summary:

WHEREAS, the Special Olympics of New Jersey has awarded Newark Board of Education a Unified Champion Schools grant in the amount of $35,000 for the 2021-2022 school year; and WHEREAS, the grant must be used to support the Unified Champion Schools program at New Jersey Regional Day and Fourteenth Avenue; and WHEREAS, the funds will be used to support Unified Club, Unified Sports, whole school engagement and inclusive physical education activities; and WHEREAS, the grant will be managed by the school in collaboration with the Office of Special Education.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Newark Board of Education accepts the grant from the Special Olympics in the amount of $35,000, for initiatives that support inclusive programming for students and intends to comply with all requirements, conditions, and requests as set forth in the grant application.
