Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were received on February 13, 2020 after Request For Proposal 9161 for High School Science Instructional Materials was available for download from the District’s website and issued to eight (8) vendors with six (6) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5a(5), the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertising for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the initial contract award during the March 26, 2020 Board meeting for a two (2) year period of March 26, 2020 through March 25, 2022 with the option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole two (2) year renewal option; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Kathleen Tierney, Director of Science and Dr. Mary Ann Reilly, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for High School Science Instructional Materials for a two (2) year period of March 26, 2022 through March 25, 2024 as follows:
McGraw Hill., Columbus, OH at an annual amount not to exceed $1,890,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide high school science instructional materials to aid in the delivery and establishment of highly effective learning environments. Subject to the availability of funds.
