Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education received proposals on Thursday, April 3, 2025 after public advertisement for Insurance Brokerage Services. Request for proposals were issued to nine (9) vendors with six (6) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires insurance brokerage services to support our efforts in the delivery of health benefits for qualified District employees as well as securing property, casualty, and risk insurance policies; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a three (3) year period commencing July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, all proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education. The committee found that all proposals meet the minimum requirements of the request for proposal, and selected the finalists identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, attached to this resolution is a Standard Certification Declaration for an Extraordinary Unspecifiable Service signed by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resource Services, describing the nature of the work to be done and the vendor selection process; and
WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of Education finds that the award of a contract for Insurance Brokerage Services to the vendors identified below is in the best interests of the Board and the School District, cost and other factors considered.

NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Insurance Brokerage Services for a contract period of three (3) years commencing July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period for a cost not to exceed two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) annually as follows:
Risk Partners Corp. doing business as Fairview Insurance Agency Associates, Verona, NJ for Prescription Drugs
Alamo Insurance Group Inc., Secaucus, NJ for Property, Casualty and Risk
USI Insurance Services LLC, Florham Park, NJ for Medical, Dental, and Vision
NOW THERE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education names Alamo Insurance Group Inc., Fairview Risk Partners Corp. doing business as Fairview Insurance Agency Associates, and USI Insurance Services LLC as the brokers of record for the Newark Board of Education. The terms of the contracts shall be in accordance with the specifications in request for proposal 10039 and the vendors’ proposals, and shall be set forth in written agreements. Notice of this award shall be published pursuant to 18A:18A-5(a)(2).
