Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 after public advertisement for Cloth Masks, request for bids were issued to twenty-nine (29) vendors with thirteen (13) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the pricing submitted by Aramark, S&H Uniforms, and Varsity Club Products is rejected and deemed unresponsive as these vendors failed to submit a signed bid; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of August 13, 2021 through August 12, 2022 with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Sherelle Spriggs, Director of Support Services.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Cloth Masks for a one (1) year period of August 13, 2021 through August 12, 2022 with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period as follows:
Isaac M Dana, Brooklyn, NY at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide students and staff of the Newark Board of Education with masks. Subject to the availability of funds.
