Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 after public advertisement for 9432 Curriculum Professional Development Request For Proposal, request for proposals were issued to sixty-five (65) vendors with twenty-eight (28) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, The District desires to develop a pool of qualified service providers who are capable of providing evidence-based professional development services at the school and/or District level that will result in increased academic performance for Newark students; and WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Mary Ann Reilly, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Curriculum Professional Development services for a two (2) year period of November 23, 2021 through November 22, 2023 at an amount not to exceed seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000.00) annually per vendor with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows: A. 4D Math Alliance Inc., Holmdel, NJ B. Center for Applied Linguistics, Washington, DC C. Discovery Education Inc, Charlotte, NC D. EDforTech Corp., Eugene, OR E. Follett School Solutions LLC, McHenry, IL F. Inspired Instruction LLC, Washington, NJ G. Educational Testing Service/ Institute for Student Achievement, Princeton, NJ H. National Science Teaching Association, Arlington, VA I. National Training Network Inc., Greensboro, NC J. New Jersey Preforming Arts Center (NJPAC), Newark, NJ K. Schillinger Scholastic Group, Poughkeepsie, NY L. Teaching Matters Inc., New York, NY M.
