Summary:
|
Whereas Amira Learning, Inc. is partnering with the Newark Board of Education in a pilot program focusing on the identification of students with dyslexia. Whereas Amira Learning, Inc. and/or its staff has the education, training and/or experience needed to provide the services described herein to the Board, its schools and students effectively and responsibly; and the Board desires to engage Amira Learning, Inc. to provide such services. This pilot program is to test the effectiveness of the Amira Learning platform prior to the implementation of the new New Jersey literacy law mandating universal literacy screening a minimum of twice a year for students in grades K-3 taking effect with the 2025-2026 school year.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Memorandum of Understanding between Amira Learning, Inc. and the Newark Board of Education.
