Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education originally advertised to receive bids on Wednesday,
May 1, 2024 after public advertisement for Lead In Paint Stabilization/Abatement On Demand Services. The request for bid was cancelled because a modification was required, and the statutorily required publishing date had passed; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education re-advertised to receive bids on Friday, May 24, 2024. Request for bids were issued to twenty-two (22) vendors with four (4) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids. The lowest bidder was determined by the labor and waste collection drum rates; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the prices submitted by Abate Tech Inc.are rejected, as this vendor failed to submit the appropriate signed bid and bid guarantee; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period of June 18, 2024 through June 17, 2026 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Lead in Paint Stabilization/Abatement On Demand Services for a two (2) year period of June 18, 2024 through June 17, 2026 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
Apex Development, Inc. Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $4,855,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide lead in paint stabilization/abatement on demand services.
