Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to providing transportation services for District facilitated Programs.
WHEREAS, Newark Board of Education Transportation will be provided for the following programs and services:
• Truancy Task Force
• Shuttle Transportation - Peshine Daily Shuttle, Ridge Street Shuttle, ELL Shuttle – Louis A. Spencer (South Shuttle), ELL Shuttle – Quitman/Camden Shuttle, ELL Shuttle Louis A. Spencer (West Side /Central, ELL Shuttle – Sussex Shuttle (Ironbound), ELL Shuttle (Substitute), ELL Shuttle – Louis A. Spencer (Ironbound Shuttle), ELL Shuttle – Quitman/Camden Shuttle, ELL Shuttle – Louise A. Spencer (Ironbound)
• College Programs –East Side to Essex County College (Daily) Forensic Program – Weequahic/University, Central/History HS Autism Program, NJIT-Forensic (Technology) (1 way), NJIT – FSI Science/West Side/Central, NJIT – Forensic Program (Barringer/American History High, Automotive in Maintenance – Science/American History/Weequahic/Eagle Academy /Barringer/East Side, Kean University, West Side HS – Essex County (one way)
• Transitional Programs – New Jersey Regional Day, John F. Kennedy School, Central High School

WHEREAS, the proposed in-state trips have been reviewed, approved and recommended by the Program & Instruction Committee and recommend for approval by the full Board, Now, therefore it is hereby resolved, that the Newark Board of Education approves the students’ transportation.
