Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with Montclair State University to provide Bilingual-Bicultural Certifications for teachers; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county, or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Matthew Brewster, Director of Staff Development.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Bilingual Bicultural Certifications for a one (1) year period commencing September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 as follows:
Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ at an amount not to exceed $200,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide bilingual-bicultural certification for teachers within the Newark Board of Education. Subject to the availability of funding.
