Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, after public advertisement for Service, Repair and Installation of Gymnasium Equipment, bids were issued to three (3) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the original contract was awarded at the November 30, 2017 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period from date of award and contained an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first renewal option at the August 27, 2019 Board Meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the second and final renewal option at the March 26, 2020 Board Meeting for a term of March 26, 2020 through March 25, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract extending the contract term through October 22, 2021 and increasing the award value; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has agreed to a seven-month extension with no increase in the original contract price for the District to repair gymnasium equipment required for successful school openings; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Wali Thomas, Director of Custodial Services.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Service, Repair and Installation of Gymnasium Equipment extending the final renewal term from March 26, 2020 through March 25, 2021 to March 26, 2020 through October 22, 2021 as follows:
Tri State Folding Partitions, Chestnut Ridge, NY at a cost not to exceed from $100,000.00 to $200,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide gymnasium equipment repairs as needed. Subject to the availability of funds.
